the base currently holds c 38-40g of grounds easily - this is a result of the shaping to ensure that there are no corners for stale coffee to hide in and to enable enough wall and base thickness to keep the wood stable.
we could make the base section slightly taller to accommodate a bit more but at the moment the symetry of the two parts is appealing (and makes prduction sligthtly easier).
