This is my home-made copper coffee roaster that I made for around £20. It took a while to prepare the roaster, but hopefully it'll reward us with a good roast for the foreseeable future.

Using your sensory skills is the name of the game here, so, attention is everything if you want a great roast using this method!

In the video, we start with an introduction that follows through to the first roast to season the drum. The complete roast through to 2nd Crack took around 15 minutes and the cracks are audible if you listen closely enough.

Minor adjustments will have to be made to perfect future roasts, but it performed fine, and now the copper drum is seasoned.

Two interesting facts about this unique copper roaster:
1. The beans will require zero resting time due to the hot environment and pressure the beans are roasted in!
2. Copper is an excellent heat conductor! Using copper allows you to apply 100% conductive heat on the coffee beans, and the oils, sugar and aroma are developed by the conduction with hot metal!

The Copper drum holds 350 grams of green beans comfortably!
